The Perfect CT Getaway at Heritage Hotel

After so many months of being in bed sick with my pregnancy, Justin and I knew we needed a night away to reconnect. We wanted to go somewhere that was close but also felt like we were truly getting away. When we found the Heritage Hotel in Southbury CT we knew we had found the perfect little getaway spot.

The hotel is nestled in the woods with a gorgeous golf course in the background and even has its own little vineyard! The surroundings are so quiet and peaceful and the hotel itself feels like you pulled up to a cozy lodge for the night. I was amazed at all the amenities as we walked around the hotel. They have the most beautiful indoor and outdoor pools along with tennis courts, a huge fitness center, cozy fire pits, peaceful rock garden (gorgeous for wedding receptions) and an amazing spa.

Justin and I were really impressed with the dinner we had at their pub-style restaurant, The Tavern. It had a great juke box playing old 80’s music and we had such a fun time relaxing and enjoying our food (I ordered the chicken parm with crème brulee and fresh berries for desert and I would totally recommend it!) . Between the delicious meal and Michael Jackson playing in the background it was the perfect laid back date night.

The next day, after a delicious breakfast buffet, I headed to the spa for a some much needed relaxation and a pre-natal massage. Justin went for a long scenic run through the golf course and used the athletic center for a bit. We spent the rest of the day ordering drinks poolside and soaking in the sun.

It was so wonderful to finally get some time to reconnect before baby number 2 gets here and relax a bit. It’s always harder to get away when you have a toddler at home but having this time with Justin really made me remember what an important investment getting away for a quite night with your spouse is into your marriage. If it’s been a while since you and your significant other have had some time away together I would really encourage you to get something on the books! If your in CT or NYC, The Heritage Hotel is a great option for a quick weekend getaway!
